Job Requirements We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Manager to conduct and direct sales for our Speakers Bureau (www.macmillanspeakers.com). Responsibilities
include cultivation and development of long-term customer relationships, managing sales staff and cold calling

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in Direct or B2B Sales and have a successful track record of converting leads into closed bookings. The individual should retain strong sales, negotiation and analytical skills. Background in speaking talent, event planning or trade publishing preferred, but not mandatory. The individual should possess a natural ability in Sales and embrace the challenges of cold calling in an effort to close bookings.

The position reports to the Vice President of Macmillan Speakers.


Negotiate and book paid speaking engagements;
cultivate and manage key client relationships through all phases of sales cycle

Direct efforts of Research Assistants

Collaborate with MSB team to initiate and manage outreach campaigns

Regularly seek new venue contacts to foster long-lasting
relationships with clients

Manage social media efforts


Successful track record in Sales, Account Management and/or Publicity

Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; ability to interact with clients from various industries; strong communicator; excellent writing skills

Exceptionally strong phone and presentation skills

Highly organized and detail-oriented multi-tasker who can seamlessly manage multiple campaigns, sometimes with little supervision


Minimum of 5 years in Sales or Publicity

At least 2 years of demonstrated success in e-mail marketing from development to reporting and analysis

Experience in working with Customer Relationship Management (SalesForce) and/or e-mail service provider tools (Exact Target) a plus

BACKGROUND REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree or Work Equivalent
