Job Requirements KARE 11, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis-St. Paul, is looking for a strong news leader, with creative energy and drive to deliver the best, unique, local content for our community every weekday morning from 4:30-7 a.m. and 11-11:30 a.m.

Our top candidate will have superior news judgment and writing/producing skills combined with the ability to enterprise content and motivate staff for an engaged and compelling news product on all platforms.


This person will supervise a team of anchors, reporters, producers and video specialists to produce KARE 11 Sunrise and KARE 11 @ 11 each weekday morning. The qualified candidate will understand and be proficient in all aspects of newscast production including story selection, newscast pacing, writing, editing video, selecting and designing graphics, and executing the show in the control room. Experience and use of digital and social media is a must. Candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule, that would include overnight hours.


Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as a newscast producer.

Skills and Abilities: Must be a smart, top notch producer with experience in making content decisions and managing and motivating staff.
Candidates should enjoy working in collaboration with others on the production, reporting, and producing teams.
Candidates should be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Candidates also should have a working knowledge of AP style, and know how to proofread and correct copy.
Candidate should driven to improve the overall look, and content of any newscast and news content.
Experience in ENPS and Edius editing software is a plus.
