Love photography? Does shooting with the latest photo gear quicken your pulse? Love writing and editing? Does a well-crafted turn of phrase bring a smile to your face? If so, this might be your dream job

As the Senior Editoryou’ll have your hands on the pulse of the latest developments in camera and photo technology, the ears of major players from all camera companies, and the opportunity to have hands-on with every major camera and lens on the market.

You should love digital cameras, photography and gadgets, and have a sound understanding of photo concepts and the technology behind them. You should also be able to turn this enthusiasm and knowledge into compelling content to engage our readers – who range from complete photo newbies to lifelong enthusiasts to working professionals.

Working with the Managing Editor, you’ll have the responsibility to recruit, coach and edit freelance writers (we don't expect you to review all the cameras yourself!). You’ll be expected to oversee the complex cycle of our review production, collaborating with our in-house test lab to analyze camera image quality and performance, taking quality photographs and videos to demonstrate field performance and camera features, assembling review elements for publishing on the web using Photoshop and Dreamweaver and promoting the content using social media.

Our workplace is casual and relaxed: think dogs at work, vs. corporate tower; if you need a corporate environment to be comfortable, we’re probably not a good fit for each other. We’re located in the North Atlanta metro area, a great place to raise a family, with good night-life in nearby Buckhead, great cost of living (houses are actually affordable here), nearby lakes, and mountains just a short drive away. Though we work in a distributed environment – we have contributors across the U.S. and even overseas -- you need to be willing to relocate to Atlanta so you can work closely with the core staff at headquarters.

We're currently revamping both the substance and presentation of our reviews and other content (see our new review format here), as well as reshaping our overall strategic vision for the site. You’ll play a big role in defining the direction we take going forward, and there are opportunities for you to explore and lead new projects as we grow.

Compensation for this position will depend on your qualifications. The company maintains and contributes to 401k and FSA accounts, and your need for health care coverage will be part of our compensation discussion.
