Shopbop seeks an experienced and talented Hair and Makeup Artist artist for our photo studio based in Madison, WI. This rare opportunity would suit a hair and makeup professional looking for a set schedule, outstanding benefits, and the opportunity to work with an extremely talented creative group. This exciting full-time position will create hair and makeup looks for daily e-commerce shoots, and oversee freelance hair and makeup talent during seasonal peaks.
Responsibilities
- Take direction in the form of descriptions or tear sheets, and create looks across a variety of models and to the Shopbop aesthetic.
- Direct, monitor, and mentor freelance hair and makeup artists to ensure desired results are achieved.
- Develop and document hair and makeup standards that can be regularly used on model pool.
- Maintain a positive, welcoming environment for our changing and diverse talent pool.
- An understanding of how to style in a fast-paced, fashion-driven setting with a variety of models.
- Excellent communication skills
- 3+ years of proven experience doing hair and makeup professionally, preferably in a fashion-related photo or video shoot environment/studio.
- Experience directing, managing, or mentoring other direct reports.
