The Kindle team is seeking a passionate and talented Localization Program Manager with a proven background in localization, localizability, and globalization to help deliver on our International releases.

This role requires working with business owners, development teams and product managers across the organization to define strategy, requirements and timelines as well as lead cross functional development teams through design, delivery, management and support.

The ideal candidate is an expert in the Internationalization field. This opportunity requires deep localization process knowledge as well proven problem-solving and communication skills. At the core of the position is delivery.

Knowledge of the following is required: localizability, globalization and localization processes, software localizations tools and technology, build processes, product development lifecycles, project management, release schedule management. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of relevant work experience in software localization. An undergraduate degree in computer science, or equivalent experience required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience building localization processes, tools and infrastructure
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in software localization
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels across multiple business units
  • Fundamental localization engineering skills across the development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product development experience (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services)
  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline
