The Digital Coordinator serves on the Digital team within the Communications department and under the direct supervision of NCLR’s Deputy Director of Digital Communications. The Coordinator will execute the organization’s online and mobile campaigns in collaboration with NCLR’s social media channels. The Digital team leverages existing policy expertise in education, health, criminal justice, and economic issues, and the intersection of these issues with civil rights and immigration policy, to establish and carry out issue-based advocacy campaigns using digital platforms. In addition, the Digital team also leverages large-scale voter registration, education, and mobilization efforts in coordination with the Civic Engagement team to build and activate a national online community of Latinos. The Digital team also works with Resource Development to develop effective online fundraising campaigns, NCLR programs and Affiliate Member Services to communicate and disseminate success stories from the organization and its Affiliates, and Integrated Marketing and Events to help promote organizational events such as the NCLR Annual Conference, Capital Awards, and ALMA Awards.
•Perform day-to-day operations of digital work, focusing primarily on email and mobile platforms and serving as a backup for Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts.
•Train staff to use Salsa (NCLR’s primary online CRM software), manage Salsa data and lists, and work closely with consultants to execute activities through the mobile platform.
•Participate in campaign strategy sessions to brainstorm new and innovative ways to use digital channels to advance the organization’s goals.
•In consultation with policy teams and Resource Development, develop campaign work plans with benchmarks and tangible goals, evaluation tools, and report metrics.
•Connect NCLR’s offline advocacy work to its online advocacy work through networking, cross-posting, and other appropriate outreach, expanding NCLR’s ability to reach and engage larger audiences and influence a national agenda.
•Produce monthly metric reports for online and mobile platforms.
•Monitor digital trends and provide regular feedback and ideas for staff to implement new ideas.
•Assist NCLR Affiliate organizations in building local networks for advocacy campaigns.
•Collaborate with issue-based teams, Resource Development, field offices, and Affiliate Member Services to ensure cross-component collaboration and maximize effectiveness.
•Tell NCLR’s story to combat negative stereotypes and misperceptions about the Latino community.
•Work with Integrated Marketing and Events to strategize and carry out list-growth opportunities for the NCLR Annual Conference and NCLR ALMA Awards.
•Manage and process contracts and invoices for payment within the Communications department.

•Knowledge of the legislative process and how the news cycle works and affects advocacy campaign strategy
•Strong ability to set and meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize assignments
•Flexible regarding schedule, working hours, and assignments, including ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
•Bachelor’s degree or higher required
•Minimum two years of relevant, successful experience required
•Strong knowledge of HTML and online action platforms; Salsa a plus
•Strong knowledge of SMS/mobile technologies
•Significant expertise using digital communications, both online and mobile, to advance advocacy or political campaigns
•Ability, flexibility, and willingness to travel occasionally
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability preferred
