Job Requirements Reporting to the Executive Director the Director of Sponsorships and Events will have primary responsibility to maintain and grow Citymeals sponsor network and special events including:

•Overall event management
-Oversee event staff to ensure the coordination of all logistics and donor
communications
-Work with Board, event chairs to develop themes, identify key event participants, and
maximize fundraising
-Supervise invitee list development and management, venue/event site and
management of relationships with site contacts,
-Oversee development of printed materials and other communications regarding
events.
-Create and adhere to budgets

•Develop and grow sponsorships
-Sustain and enhance relationships with current sponsors
-Solicit and secure new sponsors
-Maintain and manage sponsor relationships
-Work with sponsors to maximize their participation at annual events and develop
new opportunities for exposure and fundraising within the partnerships

•Develop partner events
-Research opportunities for outside events to benefit Citymeals
-Work with board members and others to identify and/or develop concepts for
partner productions
-Generate additional funds, reach potential new donors

•Donor and Board relations
-Keep board members and event chairs active and engaged
-Oversee and maintain contact with Special Event donors to ensure they are being
properly acknowledged and cultivated

SKILLS
Ideal Candidate will have:
-A minimum of 7 years of event and/or sponsor solicitation experience
-Experience in a non-profit organization not mandatory but a plus
-Independent, highly organized and detail-oriented
-Self-starter who has a record of success
-An energetic, hard-working and enthusiastic team player
-Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge
-A creative and innovative thinker
-Strong communication, management and leadership skills
-Background in sales a plus
-New York City foodie scene is a plus

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or Masters in related field
About Our Company Citymeals-on-Wheels was founded in 1981 to raise private funds to supplement New York City’s weekday home delivered meals program. Citymeals funds community based organizations to bring meals to homebound elderly New Yorkers on weekends, holidays, and in times of emergency – when they would otherwise be hungry and alone.

Last year, Citymeals supported the preparation and delivery of nearly 2 million meals to 17,000 homebound elderly New Yorkers. One hundred percent of contributions from the general public are used exclusively for the preparation and delivery of meals. Administrative costs are covered by designated grants from Citymeals board members, corporations, foundations, and government sources.
