Requirements: 3+ years experience in social media for a news website operation, including quantifiable success using the top and emerging social media, social news and content discovery platforms to drive business goals. Strong editorial judgment and a facility with a broad range of regional topics Excellent writing, usage, grammar and copy editing skills and a commensurate ability to craft quickly and constantly short, compelling copy Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to multitask and maintain sense of humor in a fast-paced news environment where priorities can change quickly. BS/BA or equivalent experience, preferably in Liberal Arts, Journalism or Communications.
Technical Skills: Superior knowledge of pros and cons of using various evolving platforms to track social media reach MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) WordPress and Photoshop are a plus |
| About Our Company |
We're looking for a pop culture junkie who is a first rate digital publicist and has strong relationships with bloggers and on-line journalists. Our digital strategist will generate earned media coverage for our branded video content. . . You will pitch and place webisodes and arrange in-studio and Skype interviews as part of our web media tours. In addition, you will manage and grow our social media platforms. Keep abreast of national news, issues and events through bloggers and social media to constantly strategize how to peg/push company web content out. Use Facebook, Twitter etc, to execute daily, grassroots-level outreach on behalf of company content, driving mentions, links and video embeds. Develop, facilitate and manage cross-linking partnerships between company and other media
This is not an entry level position. We are only considering applicants with strong editorial contacts. A background in online journalism is helpful. . . You will work with a blue chip team of content producers who know how to create compelling content.
