Job Requirements This position will help lead Open Road Integrated Media’s marketing and promotion efforts for select fiction publishing partners, both domestically and internationally. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing online and offline marketing campaigns, creating marketing content for distribution, coordinating promotions with the retail management team, and working directly with authors.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following categories:

Marketing and Publicity
• Develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and current authors across multiple genres throughout the year
• Coordinate outreach related to review and feature placement
• Create content partnerships for ongoing marketing opportunities
• Provide feature enhancement priorities for the ORIM marketing platform
• Generate seasonal marketing and publicity reports on effectiveness of ongoing campaigns

Social Media Marketing
• Participate on ORIM social networking, create social media sites for participating authors, train authors in their use, and optimize other channels for additional impact
• Investigate new advertising outlets
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and communities in social media and report back to marketing team on findings
• Create campaigns that work across social platforms (Tumblr, Pinterest, FB, Twitter, Blog)

Advertising and Analytics:
• Work with design department on display ads to coordinate with campaigns
• Implement advertising using Twitter and Facebook platforms
• Use Google Adwords platform, video ad platforms (You Tube, Tube Mogul, Blinx etc) for campaign advertising
• Gather analytics across social and advertising platforms for analysis of campaigns on an ongoing basis
• Create key metrics for campaigns and track using data from advertisers as well as platform analytics

Qualifications:
• Requires a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in related field a plus;
• 8+ years experience in a marketing, advertising or publicity role
• Must have experience using Photoshop and coding basic html
• Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing campaigns
• Experience with social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, GoodReads, etc)
• Experience with publicity and public relations planning and execution
• Experience gathering and analyzing key data from marketing campaigns

The successful candidate must have the following skills:
• Project planning is critical; individual must have the capability to document, communicate and integrate results into specific action plans and manage project plans for implementing marketing campaigns
• Ability to work closely with publishing, video and product development to deliver campaigns to market according to plan
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required; must be able to present results and actions plans with professionalism, authority and credibility to all levels within the Company, as well as externally to prospects and clients
• Initiative and desire to work successfully in a fast-paced, small team environment, self-directing day-to-day activities and prioritization; strong attention to detail, with an ability to follow-up on items to ensure tight timelines and releases are met
• An interest in Literary Fiction is a plus
• Foreign language fluency a plus (Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch)
