Job Requirements OVERALL SUMMARY
Position resides within HBO’s Domestic Network Distribution department on the team responsible for the business we do with Comcast and, in particular, Comcast’s Northeast Division. Requires a seasoned sales and marketing professional with thorough knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications and new media environments. Successful candidate will be an imaginative and decisive problem solver – one who can discern the most effective ways to drive subscriber performance and excel as a leader/manager of staff. Position holds significant P&L responsibility and collaborates closely with internal and external Marketing, Legal, Tech Ops, Finance and Public Affairs Departments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales and Marketing/Business Opportunities
· Foster and maintain relationships with key affiliate contacts and decision makers, particularly at the Division level.
· Understand priorities of our affiliates and align them to HBO’s goals and objectives
· Support product innovations that drive subscriber growth and extend awareness of HBO’s brands (HBO GO, MAX GO, expanded VOD, etc.)
· Negotiate campaign participation and cooperative funding compliant with affiliate agreements.

Operations/Revenue

· Seek andprioritize incremental revenue opportunities (Bulk, College, Alternative Sales Channels)
· Oversee development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans that will meet/exceed aggressive subscriber growth targets.
· Provide sales performance updates, forecasts, budgets, and analyses to keep the organization informed.
· Set overall point of sale training and incentive strategy.
Leadership


• Foster a culture of transparency, empowerment, and accountability by modeling the same
· Encourage innovation (strategic problem solving, challenging business as usual)


REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of 7-10 years of strategic and tactical experience in subscriber acquisition and retention, brand development, lead generation and marketing communications, ideally in cable, high-tech or web-centric businesses.
· Demonstrated history of leadership positions and effective team leadership in high-volume, fast-paced environments requiring teamwork, flexibility and change management
· Demonstrated experience and success in a consultative sales environment with a client-facing role
· Strong and effective communicator and presenter
· Exceptional interpersonal skills / high EQ (agile, resilient, positive, effective collaborator)
· College degree required; MBA desirable
· Frequent overnight travel required
