Job Requirements Summary
PEOPLE Digital is seeking an enthusiastic and fun-minded senior food and lifestyle editor who is not only experienced with recipe planning and execution, but is also plugged into the world of celebrity chefdom and star restaurateurs.

The senior editor should be hands-on and entrepreneurial, with a love for cooking and dining and a high-interest in celebrity, trends and home. Digital savvy is a must, as is quick and innovative thinking, flexibility and an understanding of the competitive landscape in both food and lifestyle brands. Firsthand experience with product launches, blogs, social media and mobile applications is preferred.

Responsibilities:
-Oversee food, recipe and lifestyle-related coverage on PEOPLE.com, including news, photo features and blog contributions
-Manage daily programming and editorial calendar for food and lifestyle channel
-Write blog posts, stories and galleries, and create video content as needed
-Manage freelancers and guest contributors
-Monitor trends in the competitive set, including in social media and product development
-Contribute to overall site specials and features content, working closely with the Mobile Editor and under the Features Director

Qualifications:
-Strong experience in writing and editing, including 5+ years working at a content-based web site or other fast-paced publication as a proven editorial contributor
-Full Rolodex of food and lifestyle contacts, including publicists and personalities
-Strong content packaging skills, including video, UGC, and blogs
-A DIY ethos
-Background in recipe editing is a plus
-Understanding of blogging tools and networks is a plus
-Strong organizational skills
-Proven ability to provide self-direction and take direction
-Experience working with both a content management system and social streams
-Ability to track, interpret, and act on key web metrics
