Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field required; 2+ years of experience in an integrated communications, media with on-camera experience, or in a PR environment required; experience managing, implementing, and measuring proactive PR and crisis communications programs across print, web, broadcast, and social environments required; exceptional written and verbal communication skills required; strong project management skills required; strong collaborator with demonstrated experience in successfully working with peers required; demonstrated success at working under deadlines with tight time frames required; professional appearance and demeanor required; familiarity with a personal computer required; experience with Google Docs, Microsoft Office, Social Media Analytic software and Media Analytic software required; Master's degree preferred; experience in higher education preferred; experience in studio management and promotion preferred; strong knowledge of social media strategy and measurement preferred; familiarity with ENG video and audio production preferred; working knowledge of Project Management Software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Video editing tools preferred.
About Our Company The Public Relations Associate supports Pepperdine's integrated communications efforts aimed at strengthening Pepperdine's brand and national reputation through communications and PR to increase brand awareness, student enrollment, fund-raising efforts, and alumni engagement.

DUTIES: Facilitate and lead communications projects within the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) team; serve as a liaison to the University community to help share the Pepperdine story; identify opportunities to seek and secure public coverage on key strategic themes; serve as a University spokesperson and respond to media inquiries; provide broadcast studio management and promotion; support crisis communication efforts, including policy, structure, documentation, and analytics; utilize new and emerging social media channels to advance reputation and engagement; participate in the creation and upkeep of the Pepperdine online newsroom; identify and cultivate relationships on behalf of the University through community engagement and strategic partnerships to advance brand reputation, recruitment, and fund-raising; measure the effectiveness of Pepperdine's PR efforts using analytic tools and software; closely monitor PR trends, research, and best practices, particularly in higher education; uphold the University's mission through work performed; and other duties as assigned.
