* NBC4 is looking for a hands-on Health and Medical Content Producer to join our award winning News department

* Responsible for researching, investigating, writing, editing, producing and gathering content for medical and health pieces for breaking news, features, and recurring branded medical segments

* Support the preparation, development and presentation of the Medical Reporters segments

* Responsible for field production on all health and medical segments

* Own the editorial and creative development of assigned medical and health stories across all of NBCs platforms, including but not limited to broadcast, digital and web

* As needed, support Medical Reporter in control room to ensure seamless production and presentation of health and medical content

* Work closely with all management, editorial staff, anchors and reporters

* Log and organize all resources used in health and medical segments such as tapes, videos, written material, contact information, scripts, and air date details



* Minimum 3 years experience in newsgathering and/or production

* Minimum 3 years experience writing, producing and editing content on a desktop editing system

* Minimum 3 years experience in a major market experience enterprising and producing medical news segments

* Bachelors Degree in related field

* Must be willing to work in Burbank, CA

* Willingness to work non-traditional business days/hours, travel and work long hours, and on weekends with short notice

* Must have a valid drivers license

* Must be willing submit to a background investigation

* Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States


* Experience with news photojournalism and non-linear editing

* Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, web and mobile

* Significant experience in the news environment and strong journalistic skills

* Basic understanding and demonstration of multi-media file formats and strong computer skills

* Ability to write, edit, produce and gather content under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility

* Experience using social media as a reporting tool

* Up-to-date with the latest medical journals and websites

* Creatively deliver news as it develops on all current and future platforms

* A pioneering spirit with desire to learn emerging technologies and invent the future

* Believes that teams are smarter and more dynamic together

* Passionately develops and presents story ideas

* Invested and engaged in the local community and authentically understands and represents local viewer interest
