Looking for a Digital Photo Editor for HarpersBazaar.com. Ideal candidate must have a fashion background with a keen eye for spotting emerging trends and be in-the-know about the industry’s tastemakers. The Digital Photo Editor must have a passion for fashion and be excited to pitch and collaborate on an editorial level in a fast paced environment. The DPE must be very adept in Photoshop specifically silhouetting and photo retouching. This person must also be able to research and obtain brand appropriate images from photographers, stock agencies, wire services, etc. and negotiate rates and contracts. Candidate will be expected to be flexible for weekend and evening work hours as needed.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Photo research and image acquisition
- Crop and optimize photos for web
- Insure that visual continuity is maintained between Hearst print publications and their websites (where applicable)
- Assist in producing/coordinating photos shoots when needed
- Track photos and their associated rights
- Work with web editors to come up with new and compelling uses for photography online
- Knowledge of industry’s top fashion photographers including bloggers and Street Style
- Shooting a plus


- Fluency in Adobe Photoshop CS6, FTP software
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience within the fashion industry
- Experience negotiating rights
- Established communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Creative eye, creative problem solver
- Ability to accurately and quickly source photos that convey a specific visual voice/brand
