Job Requirements Rodale GROW is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Editor to work on special issues for several of the company’s publications including Men’s Health, Women’s Health, and Prevention.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, energetic, organized, and highly motivated. He or she should be able—and willing—to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to produce high-quality work on tight deadlines. He or she should approach new projects with an open mind, a positive attitude, and lots of creative ideas. Interest and participation in healthy lifestyle activities is a plus; eagerness to learn new things is a must.


Responsibilities:

•Researching articles and organizing lineups for special issues on topics such as cooking, nutrition, fitness, sports, health, and wellness
•Editing pages—writing captions and headlines, cutting or adding lines for fit, copy editing, fact checking
•Some original writing, sidebar development, and story packaging
•Occasional photo research and administrative duties


Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field
•Prior editorial work or internship experience
•Strong writing, editing, and grammatical abilities
•Resourceful problem-solving skills
