||The Agency seeks a junior-level multicultural public relations professional to join its Public Relations team in, Michigan to work on external and internal communications for our automotive client; press release material development; support with client strategy development; media relations; grassroots activities and client events. This individual will work exclusively on a global automotive account. The person will provide day-to-day PR support, drive project deliverables, achieve challenging deadlines and deliver outstanding results working directly for the Director of Multicultural Public Relations.
The candidate must have a proven track record working in a public relations capacity. This person should possess strong communications skills including communications tool development, writing and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be a solid project manager as well as a skilled strategist and tactician, strong writer, creative/out-of-the-box thinker and self-starter. Successful candidates must have 2-3 years of multicultural public relations/corporate communications/special events experience. BA/BS degree required; Preferably in Journalism or Public Relations
Identify storylines and pitch points on behalf of the clients that can be pitched to multicultural and general market key journalists, bloggers, editors and producers.
Manage account administration duties such as billing, financial reporting and media monitoring.
Recommend and implement initiatives that improve the public's perception of the Client.
Support all public relations efforts tied to major events for the Client.
Maintain clear and consistent communication between account teams and client.
Participate in client meetings and conference calls
Assist with vendor communication and procurement
Assist with daily account management activities, such as agenda, conference reports, media monitoring and coordination of all necessary materials for client account
Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to develop strategic/creative thinking for client as it relates to PR initiatives
Respond to media inquiries as necessary
Read, identify and compile media coverage reports
Monitor media coverage and develop press clipping reports
Assist with press tour and trade show pitching, scheduling and logistics to ensure event success.
Harness the power of research and media-list building tools
Contribute to the writing of pitch letters, press releases and product fact sheets that help achieve client objectives.
Continuously create targeted media lists for broadcast, radio, digital and print media outlets for various PR initiatives
Play a role in increasing public relations efforts tied to the social media space
Strong oral, writing and editing skills.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Be a team player.

Strong understanding of multicultural communities as well as media outlets servicing multicultural communities and the general market.
Ability to get projects completed in a timely fashion.

Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations and pitches to clients.
Willingness to do some travel and work a few weekends out of the year.
