||HigherEdJobs is seeking a creative and analytical person to serve as our Marketing Manager. Working with the President and with assistance from the Administrative Assistant, the goal of the position is to help plan, direct, and produce compelling marketing material that increases traffic to the site, increases sales, and enhances our brand identity.

Were looking for someone who is a true marketing person, both by experience and nature. You must be interested in and excited about email campaigns, writing compelling ad copy, managing social media groups, directing graphic work, and working with the sales team. You must be able to give suggestions and direction, while also taking direction. You must routinely have great ideas while eating dinner or taking a shower. But, its not enough to have a great idea. You have to be able to explain why its a great idea and know how to use metrics and data to back it up.
Specific Job Duties Include (this is a partial list)
Create, direct and conduct campaigns via email, traditional mail, marketing collateral, print ads, electronic ads, conferences, and within the website
Write and manage newsletters for both higher education professionals and employers
Monitor sales, performance, and website traffic
Survey our users, analyze results, and use findings to adjust message/strategy
Manage Google AdWords account
Manage marketing trades with partner organizations
Create and distribute press releases
Write, edit, and review articles
Monitor and grow social media accounts and activity
Form useful relationships with others in the space via social media
Moderate social media forums
Bachelors degree, preferably in marketing
3+ years of marketing experience (this is not an entry level position)
Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
Attention to detail (our audience includes professors, so grammar errors and typos arent good for business)
Knowledge of academia and the higher education industry preferred
