Job Requirements The Boy Scouts of America Magazine Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Print and Digital Department Manager in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. The Print and Digital Department Manager will provide the vision and strategic leadership to Boys’ Life, Scouting and Eagle Scout magazines and a variety of print and digital publications. This position will ensure quality products, services and operations. The Print and Digital Department Manager will have overall responsibility for the final published products and delivery of all publications and production. This position will be responsible for making all BSA magazines and publications an editorial and commercial success and for providing a growing and profitable revenue stream to the BSA. This position will report directly to the Marketing Group Director.

The individual in this position will:
+ Provide strategic leadership and represents BSA print and digital magazines and other publications at industry and Scouting functions
+ Oversee all print and digital magazine and publications operations, including advertising sales, circulation, marketing, manufacturing, distribution, financial and editorial functions
+ Gives leadership to the content development and delivery of Boys’ Life, Scouting and Eagle Scout magazines
+ Sets the tone, editorial direction and policies for all print and digital publications and makes sure every issue is consistent on these measures and compliant with BSA brand standards
+ Requires a full understanding and application of both print and digital publishing processes from concept to product delivery to the target audiences through a variety of delivery channels as well as strong knowledge of transitioning content from print to digital format
+ Ensures the magazines and all other publications support the overall business objectives of the BSA
+ Manages professional staff through coaching, mentoring and developing
+ Responsible for the on line and digital advertising strategy of all BSA publications

+ The qualified candidate will have at least:
+ Master’s Degree in journalism or equivalent field
+ 10 years in consumer publishing or digital media
+ Strong strategic management skills
+ Experience in managing the process for transitioning publications from print to digital format
