Job Requirements Are you a youthful, energetic New Yorker that loves gay nightlife who has advertising sales experience and can work hard and play hard?

Next Magazine is seeking an Advertising Sales Account Executive to join our dynamic team. The account executive’s focus will be on local New York and regional businesses with an emphasis on gay nightlife and culture advertisers, specifically gay bars. A passion for and knowledge of New York City, and gay nightlife and culture is a must. The prospective employee will be expected to cold call prospective advertisers, carry out sales activities and ensure customer satisfaction while achieving budget goals. Experience in regional magazine advertising sales is required, national advertising experience a big plus. Industry relationships are vital.

Responsibilities Include:
- planning and conducting direct sales activities through personal sales calls to new and existing clients
- prospect and qualify accounts using existing lists, internet, networking, the company’s prospecting tools and industry events
- prepare sales presentations and close schedules
- work collaboratively with internal team to successfully meet customer objectives
- develop and maintain a customer database and sales reports through company’s CRM tool
- respond promptly to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
- manage, grow and develop accounts through the entire sales cycle on multiple platforms – from initial lead generation to signed contract
- ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
- monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management
- participate in company events and charity functions
- monitor competitors, market conditions and product development
