Job Requirements Responsibilities:

Work at a partnership/consultative level both directly with destination marketing organizations and with their agencies. Be able to and ready to go deep.
Act upon the opportunities in your given market based on research of your primary and secondary markets
Report campaign results and market case studies to your clients and assess their needs in order to drive your next successful sale
Manage complex sales cycles from start to finish with a track record of successful revenue attainment
Review, negotiate, and close contracts and opportunities
Maintain and build revenue generating relationships
Grow relationships by satisfying individual DMO goals and needs beyond their advertising schedules
Meet quarterly sales goals
Work closely with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction
Maintain accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and forecast data
Understand the competitive landscape and client needs in order to effectively position Travelzoo’s products

Qualifications:

5-7 years solid experience with a leading media company in direct sales
Experience selling to DMO’s is preferred
A proven ability to plan, develop, and execute online sales strategies
Have a consistent track record of exceeding your quota and revenue goals
Understanding of online advertising processes & cycles
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Are a self-starter with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to achieve results while working independently
Knowledge of the online travel / media publishing industry an advantage
Ability to travel on company business, attend client functions and professionally represent the company
Bachelor's degree minimum

About Our Company The Business Development Manager, Destinations will identify innovative ways to promote Travelzoo’s products and grow strategic relationships with the key destination marketing organizations in his/her territory. This individual will take industry trends, market research and the partnership advantages of working with Travelzoo as a whole, and mold these into a strategic sales plan for his/her region in order to generate new relationships, accounts and grow revenue.

This person must have solid relationships with DMO’s in the territory. A proven track record as a manager, and in selling and organizational relationship-building are all essential elements in order to be considered for this position.
