Job Requirements The Regional Accounts Director is responsible for strategically growing the Ad Councilís relationships with media companies in the Eastern region. The roleís mission is to establish and maintain relationships with key contacts at national and local media organizations, including TV, radio, digital, newspaper, magazine, outdoor and alternative media, and to translate those relationships into pro-bono support for our 50+ annual public service campaigns. In this role you will be creating and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, evangelizing the Ad Councilís public service campaigns and our unique business model. This role will require great relationship-building and presentation skills and will include frequent in-person meetings, great telephone skills and occasional entertaining.



Responsibilities



*Secure significant donated media commitments from media companies, create unique media partnerships and provide ongoing service; evangelize the Ad Council to select media accounts with particular emphasis on the top 50 media markets.
*Engage advertisers, advertising agencies, advertising agency media buyers, ad clubs, industry associations and non-profit partners in Ad Council donated media efforts.
*Develop account specific programs and custom proposals in collaboration with Campaign Management and Media Partnerships departments
*Manage existing NYC and Philadelphia Leadership Committees to support Ad Council efforts to grow donated media, identifying potential funders and hosting receptions.
*Dovetail donated media fulfillment with Media Department management, fellow Regional Accounts Directors, Media Marketing and National Account teams.
*Work with all Ad Council Departments including Campaign Management, Research, PR, Creative Services, Finance, and Development to track, measure, publicize and reward the efforts of our media and advertising industry partners.
*Research and identify new and growing sectors within the changing media landscape for continued business development and category growth
*New York City based Eastern region currently includes key markets including New York, Boston, and Philadelphia, as well as other top 50 ranked markets in the specified territory, such as Hartford/New Haven, Buffalo, and Providence-New Bedford.

Ė Corporations: More than 375 corporations, individuals and foundations provide the crucial operating funds that make The Ad Councilís work possible.



Each Ad Council campaign is sponsored and guided by a non-profit organization or a federal government agency. Many of the countryís most respected non-profits are past or current partners, including United Way, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Negro College Fund, American Cancer Society, Feeding America and many more. The Ad Council has also partnered with over 20 federal government departments and agencies, as well as the White House, from FDRís administration in the 1940s to President Obamaís.



The Ad Councilís annual docket is comprised of approximately 50 national campaigns, organized around four themes: Education, Community, Health, and Safety.



For The Ad Council, the true measure of its success is in how much it changes attitudes, behaviors and actions. Evaluation is a critical component of every Ad Council campaign. The Ad Council employs a rigorous framework that measures media exposure, consumer response, Web analytics, and national pre- and post-tracking surveys that measure attitudinal and behavioral shifts among the target audience.



All of its campaigns are based on extensive research to uncover key consumer insights. To produce compelling, single-minded communications, The Ad Council conducts exhaustive literature and public opinion reviews, exploratory qualitative research, peer reviews and communication checks.














Job Requirements

*Bachelorís degree required
*At least 5 years of consultative, solutions-focused sales experience
*Proven track record in developing and closing new business as well as the maintenance and expansion of services to an existing customer base
*Existing rolodex of media company relationships within the specified region
*Proven ability to prospect and close new accounts
*Deep understanding of media industries (TV, radio, digital, print, outdoor, etc.)
*Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
*Must be flexible and have a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
*Must be extremely detail-oriented with strong problem solving and negotiation skills
*Ability to engage clients in compelling presentations
*Ability to quickly understand high-level client needs and identify the best mix of solutions to address their unique business challenges
*Ability to build / maintain long term client relationships, and see projects from start to finish
*Ability to motivate and inspire others in company across functional lines
*Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts and products
*Collaborative thinker, problem solver and team player
*Ability to travel as required
