Job Requirements The Web Designer is responsible for the design of new web presences, creation and/or modification of graphics that are utilized across a variety of our web properties. The Web Designer works closely with web producers in the creation of both national and local content and has the primary responsibility to design and implement websites from initial concept, site architecture, and user interface to finished deliverables. Additional responsibilities include:
• Interfaces with WNET Producers, Project Managers and Frontend Developers to initiate production design efforts
• Responsible for design of websites & applications which are to be deployed w/ current and emerging technologies
• Provide deliverables such as wireframes, site maps, navigation systems, page flow diagrams, comps and working prototypes that adhere to PBS standards
To qualify, candidates must have a BA/BS in Liberal Arts, Technology, Media Studies or equivalent with at least one (1) year of relevant experience. In addition, candidates will have working knowledge of Mobile Applications and proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver. Additional skills include:
• Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Excellent written, communications ,project management and time management skills
• Familiarity with the capabilities of, JavaScript, CSS and HTML
• Superior aesthetic sensibilities in areas of visual design, interaction design & composition
