Job Requirements Account Executive Job Purpose: Candidate will be responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing relationships with current CMI advertisers and sponsors; while Candidate will be an Independent Contractor, she/he will be expected to adhere to a full-time weekly schedule of 40+ hours (includes sales responsibilities, administrative duties, travel, etc.)

Job Location: Candidate will work remotely; Candidates in/near the following geographical areas are preferred: San Francisco, New York, Boston, Chicago, Austin.

Account Executive Job Duties:

• Candidate will report directly to CMI’s Vice President & Publisher and will be required to meet and exceed her/his agreed-upon revenue forecast/budget.
• Obtaining new business from prospects that fall into the following service categories: Mobile, Search, Social Media Tools, Content Management Systems, Advertising Agencies, and potentially others.
• Large focus on continued growth of following channels: Chief Content Officer magazine, Content Marketing World (annual conference), CMI whitepapers & online display advertising and Research initiatives.
• Creation of all CMI sponsorship agreements and management of CRM system.
• Trafficking and oversight of all sponsorship deliverables.
• Reviewal and approval of all sponsorship packets before delivery to clients.
• Weekly status reports providing 20 new prospects 3 in-person meetings.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience selling advertising/sponsorships
• Excellent communication skills (in-person, phone, email, etc)
• Well organized: this job requires a multitude of multi-tasking
• Strong independent workflow skills: candidate will be managed but will be expected to work independently the majority of the time.
• Proficiency in the following is preferred: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Salesforce

Salary/Compensation: $60,000+ contingent on goals met.

Additional Notes:

• Travel will constitute less than 10% of job responsibilities.
• Candidate will be required to cover cost of the following necessary tools: Computer, Internet and Phone.
