Job Requirements Job Description: You will be an expert in Rich Media implementation for the NYTimes digital properties, acting as a resource for the Ad Operations groups in both NYC and London. Core responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting and implementing rich media ads submitted by current advertisers, as well as investigating and testing new technologies for advertising. Must be proficient in Flash, HTML and Javascript coding and be familiar with the online advertising process.

Responsibilities and Key Areas of Accountability:

1. Act as a resource to the Ad Operations group regarding the technical implementation of ads, testing new types of rich media, and troubleshoot ad related issues.

2. Act as day to day contact with third party rich media vendors.

3. Code, debug, and troubleshoot D/HTML, Javascript, and Flash-based advertising units as well as investigate general problems reported on the site that may be attributed to ad units.

4. Enforce company advertising standards and policies.

5. Set up and test Rich Media creatives and campaigns in the NYTimes proprietary ad serving environment.

6. Administer campaigns utilizing third party vendorís technology and maintain working knowledge of their products and technologies. This includes investigating and testing new ad technologies.

7. Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to ensure that our ad technology platforms are designed to optimally handle new ad formats.

8. Provide design and coding consultation and services for our advertisers as needed.

9. Update our online media kit and creative showcase.


1. 3+ years experience in field and demonstrable skills troubleshooting & editing code.

2. Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical personnel.

3. Knowledge of Web technologies, demonstrated comfort with technical concepts and an ability to continually learn technical concepts quickly.

4. B.S./B.A. or equivalent is required.
