Job Requirements Our engineering team develops business-critical applications and services for the largest news agency in the world. We provide publishers and broadcasters with news text, photos, and video over both Internet and satellite. As part of a small team of high-performers, you will work on web interfaces that help our customers discover and use our content. The ideal candidate has deep experience with modern interactive web sites, and can learn and understand newsroom workflows.

Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and test scalable web applications
- Explore and implement intuitive and compelling experiences
- Refactor or re-implement existing web UIs Required Skills:

Required Skills:

- BS in Computer Science or similar field
- Expert knowledge of HTML5, Javascript, and CSS3
- Knowledge of at least one web stack (Rails, Django, LAMP, etc.)
- Experience with jQuery and Javascript MVC frameworks (angular, ember, knockout, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, frameworks, and languages
- Deep understanding of user experience utilizing quantitative data (web-analytics)
- Ability to clearly communicate design decisions and trade-offs.
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable code with tests. Enjoy refactoring
- 4 years relevant work experience Desired Skills:

Desired Skills:

- Regularly performed code reviews
- Automated cross-browser testing
- Functional programming experience
- Responsive design, CSS preprocessors and grunt
- Lead or contributed to an open source project
