Job Requirements

Elle Decor is looking for a Junior Sales Rep to sell advertising space in magazine within assigned territory through personal, telephone & direct mail contacts. The candidate will make a minimum of 15 outside sales calls weekly & travel within the assigned territory every 6 weeks. Duties also include: Sales call preparation, as well as creative & thorough follow-up for every call. Interact extensively with agencies & clients to determine key mktg issues for all accounts. Build strong client & agency contacts at tall levels. Maintain & improve magazine's advertising lineage & share of market. Use various sales aides, visual presentations, research reports & sales support data to help effectively deliver sales message to clients. Provide accurate & timely business estimates, forecasts, paperwork/admin. Provide acct status reports, submit weekly itineraries, generate competitive analysis & share of market reports. Keep relevant others informed, (mgmt, split partners), regarding acct status, proposals, personnel changes. Handle competitive analysis, organizing & scheduling appointments & send out issue letters.

Required Skills:

Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills required

Experience Required:

Prior consumer ad sales experience required; Extensive list of prior contacts in the sales category required; College degree is desired.
