Job responsibilities include:
• Create and execute strategic PR plans for clients.
• Oversee day-to-day management of accounts.
• Manage client relations.
• Work on branding, positioning, and messaging.
• Responsible for openings, product launches and other announcements.
• Write press materials including press releases, pitch letters, bios, backgrounders, fact sheets, etc.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media.
• Possess a great understanding of the media – how it works, types of stories they like to write, which journalists to pitch, etc.
• Pitch stories to the media.
• Field and coordinate incoming media requests.
• Arrange interviews and photo shoots.
• Prepare spokespeople.
• Social Media – Establish the voice/tone, research relevant social media vehicles, update posts.
• Event planning and execution.
• Write copy for various PR and marketing materials.
• Nominate restaurants for important awards; manage award process.
• Build and/or maintain relationships with key industry and community organizations (i.e. James Beard House, etc.).
• Photography – hire photographers, serve as creative director for client photo shoots, and oversee clients’ photo databases.

In addition to PR activities, there may be some marketing work for clients that could include:
• Work with outside agencies to drive the design of select marketing materials (i.e. brochures, postcards, etc.), logos, and websites.
• Execute online marketing initiatives including designed emails and web promotions.
• Identify key marketing/promotional opportunities – events, speaking opportunities, partnerships, etc.
• Advertising – work with outside agencies to develop advertisements for clients.
