Job Requirements Ratings Intelligence is an innovative, growing research company owned by industry trade leader New Bay Media, based in New York’s tech-centric Flatiron district. We publish daily research reports on key trends in television program and network performance based on audience data licensed from ratings services.

We are currently looking for a talented TV Ratings Analyst to lead research and new content production. The right candidate will be both a watcher of television and a student of the business of television -- as well as someone with experience studying and making sense of television ratings data.

The proper candidate must be an excellent writer. By this, we mean they must be able to use language to simplify complexity and generally make sense of trends found in data in a clear way.

We believe the right ambitious, creative candidate will be able to learn a great deal on the job but will also come in with some existing experience with Nielsen data -- and with using Nielsen software systems to query audience viewing data.

Finally, the right candidate will be capable of working autonomously and able to juggle multiple priorities with deadlines under a demanding workload. That said, the selected candidate will also be working in a tremendously supportive, well equipped environment and will be supported by the significant talent of New Bay’s existing journalists and editorial team.

Job Responsibilities:
• A strong understanding of media measurement, specifically with Nielsen ratings.
• Ability to use Nielsen, and other, software systems to query, organize and make sense of ratings data
• Adept at creating and posting content on a website, which includes an understanding of web publishing technologies like WordPress, or a desire to learn.
• The ability to originate research ideas, follow through on goals and draw written conclusions from findings for a sophisticated audience of media professionals.
• The ability to work with a talented team and delegate appropriately.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Prior experience working within or around the television or advertising business.
