Job Requirements Department Overview:

National Marketing is responsible for marketing and promotion to national audiences including but not limited to media, governmental institutions, foundation and corporate partners, all national programming
produced and/or presented by WGBH.

Position Overview:

The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is responsible for working with senior staff and/or management to lead and execute integrated national publicity campaigns primarily for the This Old House and Ask This Old House series, and related activities or project extensions. The SAE works in close collaboration with members of the National Marketing (NM) Department, related WGBH departments and the project production team in Concord, MA. This position will also collaborate with This Old House Ventures/ Time Inc. publishing and online marketing teams.

Responsibilities include: Show and talent publicity, photo and electronic clip selection and dissemination, interaction with Station Relations and other key departments and ability to manage fast-moving, detailed projects on time and budget.

Flexible schedule required. Some travel may also be required.

Skills Required:

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in public relations, media relations and marketing; experience within the television industry is preferred. Interest in or experience with PBS programming, entertainment, publishing, or Do-It-Yourself house projects is an asset. Experience should ideally include broadcast, online and social media campaigns.

Solid writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills required, as are superior verbal and organizational skills.

Demonstrated leadership ability working with the public and press is essential -as well as in meeting the demands of multiple, complex projects under the pressures of tight deadlines and fixed budgets.

Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and an extensive attention to detail are essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Mac-based programs, familiarity and passion for new/emerging technologies and design processes and print production required. References and a relevant portfolio of work will be requested at time of interview.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelorís Degree or higher.
