Job Requirements The Junior Designer, Digital & Marketing position is responsible for collaborating with our creative, production, sales, marketing, publicity, and distribution teams to create materials for print, e-books, apps, and Web-based platforms.

DUTIES
Specific duties include:
* Conceive and design sales, marketing and publicity materials including ads (print and digital), displays, posters, postcards, tote bags, event kits, and other sales and marketing items.
* Conceive and design catalogs for domestic and foreign rights markets.
* Conceive, create and supply a variety of images for the Web.
* Coordinate schedules to ensure timely production and delivery of sales, marketing and publicity materials (print and digital).
* Provide design support for industry trade shows, including signage and booth materials.
* Transition print layouts for e-book conversion and release.
* Develop original layouts for e-book and app release.
* Ensure consistency and quality of content, aesthetics, and functionality for e-books and apps.
* Research and develop innovative formats for digital platforms, including e-book, Web and apps.
* Coordinate creation of physical mock-ups for print titles and materials.
* Participate in Quirk’s digital initiatives through regular meetings and project-specific meetings.
* Provide general design support for our creative, production, sales, marketing, publicity, and distribution teams as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Background in publishing, with 1-3 years experience in print/digital design preferred.
* Background in marketing preferred, and background in book design a strong plus.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required, with emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
* Experience with HTML, CSS, and Flash a strong plus.
* Experience with e-book and app creation a strong plus.
* Knowledge of QuarkXPress preferred.
* Active interest in digital design trends and developments.
* Exceptional organization skills and the ability to handle multiple projects on deadline.
* Bachelor’s degree required.
