Overview:
Digital marketing is evolving from a solely content targeting approach to include an audience targeting approach.  Clients no longer adopt multiple marketing strategies to reach individuals - sending different, disparate messages to a person's 'consumer' self vs. his/her 'business' self.  Through our extensive network of targeted sites, we have one view of our audience so to enable a consistent messaging opportunity.
CBS Interactive's Technology business unit (CNET, ZDNet, TechRepublic, SmartPlanet) is looking for a new member of our fun loving team as an Editor of Branded Content.  The Branded Content team within CBSi Tech has been growing in revenue and size over the past year and we are seeking a highly energetic and collaborative person to guide the creation of content across our extensive client list.   
As the only publisher amongst the Top 10 digital properties on the interweb, this role requires staying abreast of the needs, wants and desires of our loyal audience -- so to help drive more relevant content.  Additionally, the Editor role works with our clients to help educate them on our audience and product portfolio so successful marketing programs can be delivered. The ideal candidate is someone who can serve as a journalist - with a commercial/marketing slant - Someone who can tell a story that is of interest to the user while driving commercial results for our clients' campaigns.
Objectives: 
Better understand the needs and behavior of our audience and sub-segments and proactively contribute to strategies to improve our relationship with them through client campaigns
Assist in the development of net new content products that is of commercial interest to both our audience and clients
Maintain and refresh the existing Branded Content portfolio to keep the products relevant and profitable
Develop quality revenue driving content across several forms and media
Through our product portfolio and client campaign ideas, raise website traffic, improve time spent by our users, and drive 'shares' of our content
Identifying up-sell and cross-sell opportunities through client relationship building
Accompany the sales team, when required, to pitch ideas and drive bookings/IO's
Serve as a thought leader by finding and distributing relevant research to the global Sales and PMBC teams while outlining its implications and ideas for next steps
Main tasks/responsibilities:
Develop a strong understanding of the technology vertical and the main trends evolving in the space
Build client relationships and trust, demonstrate an understanding of their business and how to drive revenue through branded content
Work with Product Marketing and Sales to develop new ideas for clients- both proactively and reactively (in response to RFPs) while ensuring that they are realistic and profitable
Work to create an unique approach/look to our videos and other Branded Content products that showcases quality and differentiates us in the marketplace
Conduct content audits for clients and develop content strategies for them
Successfully moderate physical (Roundtables, Private Dinners) and virtual (Webcasts, Google Hangouts) client events
Serve as talent in our videos- conducting interviews, outlining 'How-To's', and narrating product demos
Understand how to create content for desktop vs. tablet vs. smartphone environments
Explore and help test new technologies and partners around the creation, promotion, distribution, and measurement of content
Review site side analytics data to gauge effectiveness of your content, optimizing results to drive ROI


5-6 years of experience in multi-channel content creation
Bachelor's degree in one of the following a plus: Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing/Advertising
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Multilingual abilities a plus or, at least, experience developing campaigns for different audience segments
Experience in video production, specifically for online consumption/distribution, is key
Strong strategy, negotiation, and analytical skills
Developed contacts within the digital space from both a new business (ex. Potential clients) and partner (ex. Freelancers/Contractors) perspectives
Excellent interpersonal skills and capability to build productive relationships across the business and all levels of management as well as with third parties, domestically and internationally
Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and changing business priorities
Ability to maintain a high degree of self-motivation and tenacity and a passion for problem-solving
Knowledge of multiple business software applications (Adobe, Microsoft Office, Google, etc.) is important
Ability to quote pop culture movies and recognize quotes when spoken
Openness to ambiguity
Ability to work with stakeholders across the US, EMEA and APAC businesses and effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally is essential to succeeding in this role. Key internal relationships include: Product Marketing (Global); Central Research & BI team; Editorial team; Product team; Sales team
