Job Requirements Saveur magazine is seeking an enthusiastic, resourceful, hard-working photography editor with a passion for food, travel, and culture. This key position assigns all photography for regular and special issues and fulfills all photo research requests, working closely with editor-in chief, art director, and editors to achieve the excellence in visual storytelling that is a hallmark of Saveur. Ability to get maximum results while keeping within a reasonable budget is a must. This person will also shoot photos in-house as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assign all photography for regular issues and SIPs

• Conduct all photo research

• Work with editor-in-chief and art director on photo assignments and selection of photos

• Organize and post photos online and maintain photo archive

• Generate photographers’ contracts, fulfill payments, and maintain budgets


• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a photography editor for a consumer publication, preferably in the epicurean sector

• Wide range of photography contacts, particularly in the areas of food and travel

• Thorough knowledge of Adobe Bridge and Photoshop

• Excellent photographic skills

• Excellent eye for visual story-telling

• Ability to work effectively as a team member and on tight deadlines
