Your tasks This is an entry-level role on Random House?s corporate online marketing team. It includes typical assistant duties, but also involves opportunities to work creatively with people across the company and industry, to produce online marketing campaigns, and to learn about all aspects of book publishing and online marketing.
The online marketing assistant is a key part of our friendly, collaborative, and innovative team of 9 people.
Reporting and Analysis ? Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports related to online sales, web analytics, and online marketing ? Analyze and optimize online marketing campaigns to meet business goals ? Perform ad-hoc analyses on a variety of topics
Marketing & Merchandising ? Launch and run data-driven online marketing campaigns ? Collaborate with divisional marketers and the sales department to drive sales of Random House books ? Help manage Random House?s website and our presence on social networks ? Market our books through category/genre outreach and other backlist marketing
Other ? Set up departmental and vendor meetings, and schedule and run a monthly meeting for all RH online marketers ? Create documentation for new in-house tools and methodologies ? Keep up-to-date on new technologies in consumer marketing and digital reading, and share information with others ? Execute special projects
Our requirements Essential Abilities & Functions ? Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) ? HTML, Photoshop, and blogging software ? Expert knowledge (or willingness to learn) of Excel (for example, pivot tables) and PowerPoint ? Strong analytical skills and curiosity, for interpreting sales and web analytics data ? Eagerness to learn new technologies ? Strong interest in social media and books ? Organizational skills, collaborative nature, willingness to speak in front of and communicate with large groups of colleagues
