Australian Editor for Mens Website
Asylum.com, the largest mens lifestyle destination online, is searching for a new editor to focus on its Australian site. We want someone who can develop the focus and voice of the site for the local market.
The editor will be responsible for producing original, daily posts and features for Australia as well as adapting content from our sites in the U.K., U.S., India and other parts of the world. Ideal candidates should have several years of experience editing a notable online or print publication as well as a passion for the geeky side of mens lifestyle.
Wed like to find someone willing to push the boundaries of what readers expect from a mens magazine. Sure, we cover gadgets, weird news, sports, comedy, sex and politics, but we want our ideal candidate to find stories covered in few other places on the Web, develop distinctive takes on big issues, and get people talking (or at least commenting).
Experience building audience and traffic numbers is a big plus.

Desired Skills
-- At least two years of editing a lifestyle Web site, preferably focused on mens culture
-- Great organizational skills as youll have to divide your time editing the site with promoting its content
-- Can create SEO-optimized content that maintains a strong personality
-- Experience coordinating, assigning, line editing and copy editing articles
-- A working knowledge of Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Stumbleupon and an understanding of how to promote material on these platforms
-- Background in working with other sites to develop partnership opportunities
