Job Requirements AOL Living is looking for a dynamic senior editor who has a strong background in news and a knack for identifying stories and angles that are compelling to women, from Charla Nash's appearance on Oprah, to the Fort Hood hero to the Maclaren stroller recall. You should also be a natural when it comes to lively, must-read women's lifestyle content inspired by news, pop culture, and trends - in short, knowing what women will be talking about before they do!

This experienced writer and editor with strong daily or weekly news experience (copyediting experience is a major plus) is a creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced editorial environment and who can inspire junior editors to do the same. Of course being highly organized doesn't hurt either, as the position requires juggling many moving parts and multiple assignments, all while keeping content fresh throughout the day and meeting strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be a morning person, a news-hound, a meticulous writer, a great communicator and full of ideas for how to use the power of the internet to help moms and other busy women organize their lives.

The person filling this role should be strategic, highly productive, annoyingly organized, familiar with what makes content on the web sticky and good for SEO, and able to drive important business metrics. You should be a self-starter who can work on deadline in a hectic environment without losing your cool. Familiarity and comfort working with HTML, Photoshop online publishing and blogging platforms and AP style are all a plus. Key Responsibilities:

-oversee day-to-day editorial mix of news and lifestyle content, including working with other AOL content teams, assigning, editing and writing clicky, SEO-friendly display copy. You should be an experienced and confident headline writer who is always thinking about what the follow-up piece is. You should be an avid follower of news, pop culture and women's lifestyle topics and familiar with the online women's lifestyle market.

-create high-quality, engaging content that is accurate and follows AP standards for style, grammar and spelling

-oversee and manage editor and assistant editor

-create editorial calendar

-Be innovative and audience-focused in creating new features and tools

-Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service, both with colleagues and external contacts

Required Qualifications:

-7-10 years editorial/writing experience

-2-3 years managing an editorial staff and editorial processes

-excellent writing and editing skills

-wide-ranging freelance and industry contacts

-strong consumer editorial background in magazines newspapers or online (online experience is a major plus)

-Great communication skills

-detail and goal-oriented, with an ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

-Located in NYC

-open to early start time
