We are seeking an Art Assistant to join our Rodale Book Division in New York City.
We are seeking an Assistant to provide support to one of our busy, fast-paced art departments. This is a great opportunity to learn about the book publishing industry while working with a dynamic and creative design team!
The Administrative Assistant:
-Provides administrative support for department head (processes expense reports and coding invoices, answers phones, takes messages, photocopies, faxes, organizes and maintains files, handles messenger requests)
-Assigns work to outside vendors (requests scans, c-prints, etc.) and assist in buying art/photography rights
-Maintains and orders art department supplies
-Returns art work to freelancers, vendors, etc.
-Handles requests from other departments for images, etc.
-Other projects as needed
Requirements include:
-4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
-Interest in graphic design and photography
-Prior office experience
-Excellent phone skills
-Strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
-Ability to work under pressure
-Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
