Job Description of Editorial Writer:


The Marketing and Corporate Communications teams are jointlybuilding new capability as we seek to build greater awareness of thecompanys thought leadership in education. This person will primarilybe responsible for editorial including white papers, position papers,case studies, presentation proposals, presentations, some pressmaterials, social media and web content. He/she will consult with otherdepartmental teams and outside partners to ensure accuracy of contentand deliver a consistent and coherent verbal vocabulary across allwritten platforms, which may also include advertising and marketingcommunications such as digital content and collateral.

Primary responsibilities of Editorial Writer:

  • Primary writer for editorial content developed by the marketing and corporate communications departments.
  • Seek opportunities to engage conversations takingplace in social media, and collaborate with Corporate Communicationsand/or Marketing to represent the company in these exchanges.
  • Write/ghostwrite content for company managed social media and content syndication platforms.
  • Work with in-house design staff and freelancecreative talent to develop concepts for communications and eventinitiatives, built from a brand identity platform.
  • Guide the output of freelance writers if required to take on additional workload.
  • Creative consultation on general marketing and communications initiatives.

Requirements of Editorial Writer:

  • 5-7 years of writing experience, with a strong book of content.
  • Experience writing editorial and/or marketing/communications copy, as well as for social media.
  • Has experience with any of the following: journalism, agency copywriting, business editorial writing.
  • Understanding of/experience with K-12 education a big plus.
  • Success managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment that can require tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Is thorough, pays attention to detail, learns their trade and effectively manages time and relationships.
