The Media Supervisor is responsible for leading the development and execution of media strategies and campaigns of assigned clients and act as a back-up to the Media Director. The Media Supervisor must be able to combine creative thinking with fact-based analysis to develop appropriate and effective strategies that ensure campaign success. The Media Supervisor is the team paid media expert on assigned accounts and works directly with the client and account services teams to develop and execute all aspects of paid media campaigns. The role also includes overseeing and mentoring media associate(s) and intern(s) who are the support system for the department.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the media resource on the account team for assigned clients
• Serve as the day-to-day face for assigned media clients
• Develop client media plans across all traditional and new media platforms
• Negotiates media buys across all mediums
• Analyze and optimize campaigns throughout entire lifecycle - resolve any performance issues
• Work with the Media Associate to manage the billing process; reconcile vendor invoices; track media expenditures
• Review client POV’s
• Pursue new opportunities and added-value programs via media partnerships
• Build and maintain positive vendor relationships
• Ability to work across departments to develop more cohesive recommendations
• Develop best practices for media planning and buying processes, competitive media analysis, effective and cost efficient media solutions for assigned clients
• Maintain accurate budget forecasts and update as needed
• Supervise/train media associates in planning, buying and resolution of billing discrepancies.
• Occasional travel
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5 – 7 years of Media Planning/Buying experience
• Advertising agency experience preferred
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Desire to service clients in the non-profit sector
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) to foster optimal relationships
• Comfortable presenting in front of both large and small groups
• Fair-minded negotiator
• Ability to multi-task, thrive in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Detail oriented, good follow-thru and quick to respond to client and internal requests
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment
• Team builder with strong problem solving skills
• Knowledge of media planning tools: Strata, ARB, NSI, Simmons, MRI, Scarborough, Kantar, Adviews and @Plan
• Knowledge of Third party ad servers, SEM, SEO, and analytics
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
