||You There, Copywriter: We Want You.
Great writing gets you high. Typos kill your appetite. You love to work hard at what you love. You’re the brainiac writer we’ve been looking for, and you’re going to join our copy team.
What You’ll Do.
You’ll be working with the creative team to write copy for websites, apps, packaging, print collateral, eblasts, scripts, press releases, walls, windows, and whatever else we want to stick words on. As part of Madwell’s creative brain trust, it’ll be your job to help conceptualize big ideas (and everything inside them) and to see those ideas through to the finish. Because we take a holistic view of the creative process, you’ll be working directly with the design, strategy, and dev teams throughout the process.
Specifically, you’ll be:
-Producing long- and short-form copy across accounts and media as requested
-Conceiving concepts consistent with creative briefs and demands
-Developing and articulating voice and tone guidelines
-Taglines, taglines, taglines, taglines, taglines. Taglines? Taglines.
-Helping to maintain social media accounts for a variety of clients
-Contributing to proposals and statements of work, both independently and with oversight from account management
-Completing all assigned work on time and regularly providing status updates to managers
-Acting as a spotter and sounding board for other writers on the team
-Constantly combing your work (and others’) for logic, grammar, and consistency, Eye of Sauron-style
Where You’re Strong.
A formidable command of the English language
Ability to effortlessly flex and bend your voice to support everything from science to snacks
Willingness to come at a problem again and again from different angles
Resilient and even-keeled, able to balance pressure and play
A tireless work ethic and sense of professional pride and purpose
Still in possession of a “Wouldn’t it be cool if…” outlook on life
Equal parts confidence, humility, and desire to learn
Love of snacks
Where You’ve Been.
2-5 years of professional writing experience; some agency experience preferred
