Job Requirements Nature Publishing Group and Scientific American have an opening for an Account Executive.

The Account Executive will focus on the sale of advertising, and create meaningful sponsorship relationships in the digital and print communications spheres, with full awareness and knowledge of social and mobile media tools. All elements of the NPG and Scientific American promotional offerings will be understood, and offered to a client list that will be broadly defined as the New York Territory.

The candidate will be located in our New York offices with current contacts in the New York City market specifically, and the New York market broadly defined.

The candidate will have current contacts in the Chicago market specifically and potentially in the Midwestern market, broadly defined.

The successful candidate will collaborate with his/her counterparts at NPG to identify prospects most appropriate for group-wide offerings.

Working directly with external clients and agencies, the Account Executive will use their consultative sales skills to build and develop strong relationships, especially in early phase communication and program development for marketing partners.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, dynamic and constructive team player who can demonstrate a successful track record with all disciplines of ad and sponsorship sales. The candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5-7 years of sales experience. The willingness to travel is also required.
