Finally, a show about advertising. With MadMen doing so well it seems only fitting that a program that’s actually about advertising comes along. Trust Me sucked (and was written by former ad dudes), but slap an Aussie accent on a potentially funny show and well, you might have something. That’s what Australia’s comedy channel FOXTEL is hoping for “:30 Seconds” — a new program centered on the ridiculous characters you know and work with.

“Naturally there’s a bit of exposition in the first episode for non industry folk. But the backdrop is real enough — the underperforming Sydney outpost of global network BND Worldwide; the client who wants to keep an annoying brand icon; the client who wants to get rid of a much loved (and agency created) brand icon; the dead brand icon; the psychopathic new CEO; the awkward client-creative relationship.
But, more to the point, there’s a proper storyline, laughs, and decent characters. Enough, I think, to be of wider appeal beyond the industry audience.”
OK it looks hilarious in that Flight of the Conchords/Summer Heights High kind of way. If you haven’t seen the latter, do so immediately. You can thank me later. More clips after the jump.
