Granted, it’s still early and it only covers 2012, but GEICO’s headache-inducing Maxwell the Piggy character has surprised us by leading Buzzfeed’s “Favorite Advertising Icon of 2012” poll to help promoted Advertising Week. Even the almighty Flo, who somehow earned EW.com’s “greatest advertising icon” honors last year, is lagging behind. Of course, there are a ton of “icons” to choose from including “The Most Interesting Man,” the fetching T-Mobile girl and even McGruff the Crime Dog (a personal fave). Whatever the case, it may just be a travesty if our current leader ultimately wins out. Do something, people!
