BBDO Detroit to Cut 100-200 Jobs

Breaking: AgencySpy has learned BBDO Detroit will lay off anywhere from 100 to 200 employees beginning tomorrow. A source close to the situation tells us the layoffs are due to media cutbacks from ailing automaker Chrysler.

Several departments are expected to be hit totaling as much as 26% of staff. A BBDO spokesman declined to comment on the situation.

MarketWatch reported yesterday that talks between Chrysler and GM “reached an impasse”, and the car makers have decided to discontinue their talks until a later date.
