Bill Pauls, the 20-year agency vet who may or may not have been let go by BBDO Atlanta in June, is traveling elsewhere in the 404, finally landing a new gig as a CD at SapientNitro. Along with CD partner John McHale, Pauls will help oversee digital and traditional integration of clients Cigna, Michelin, and Coca-Cola’s sponsorship of the 2012 Olympics at SN’s Atlanta office.
During Pauls’ 10-year residence with BBDO, he rose through the ranks from group creative director to ECD and eventually helped take on fired BBDO Atlanta CCO’s Marcus Kemp‘s duties for a short while. Famous for Cingular Wireless’s “Raising the Bar” slogan, Pauls has earned included Cannes Lions, Emmys and Gold Effies. Prior to BBDO, Pauls was a CD at JWT Atlanta.
While we still don’t know what exactly transpired that led to his exit from BBDO, perhaps we can learn something from Pauls’ statement regarding his new post, in which he says, “When you have the chance to throw out the old playbook and write a new one, it’s a pretty exciting spot to be in.”
