Bust Out the Streamers; It’s Pat Fallon Day

In honor of Pat Fallon‘s induction into the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Hall of Fame today, Minneapolis mayor R.T. Rybak is celebrating the hometown hero by proclaiming this day, March 25, 2010, to be “Pat Fallon Day” in the Twin City.

Fallon, who’s often credited with establishing an ad industry in the heartland let alone Minneapolis, co-founded his namesake firm in 1981 (then known as Fallon McElligott Rice) and has since won the usual ad accolades along with Emmy Awards for Citi’s “identity theft” and PBS television commercials, as well as the first Cyber Lion ever awarded at Cannes for the BMW online film series. Besides his ad background and work, which you can read more about here, Fallon is also a current board member of the National Children’s Defense Fund and is an acting commissioner for what was formerly known as the Minnesota Boxing Commission.
