Carpenter’s Latest Gig Comes to an End

A quick phone call has confirmed that Rick Carpenter‘s time as president of an L.A.-based “brand response advertising” firm  named Quigley-Simpson is now over. Carpenter, who’s “no longer with the agency” according to the Q-S staffer on the other end of the line, once served as president/CEO of DDB Chicago if you recall but officially resigned from his post at the end of 2010 to “begin the next phase of his career.” He was eventually replaced several months later by former Gotham chief Peter McGuiness.

Carpenter joined Quigley-Simpson in August of last year and in a statement at the time, CEO Gerald Bagg said, “It was time to hire a president, and it needed to be someone who shares our entrepreneurial spirit – as well as someone who knows how to manage ad agencies through periods of growth. We found the perfect person in Rick.”

The exec spent a total of 22 years in the DDB network, with the first 18 being in the Los Angeles office, where he eventually moved up to president, and the last four in Chicago where he held his aforementioned post.
