Well, guess the Draftfcb acquisition rumors were just that as a rep for Chicago-based digital shop Colossal Squid tells us that the agency is officially “disbanding.” While we’ve been told that Draft’s Windy City office did hire a few Squidoos, any absorption allegations have been squashed. We haven’t received an exact date for the closing, but we’ve gotten word that there are only a few staffers left, a far cry from the 50-60 that Colossal Squid boasted just six weeks ago. Sad, but we can imagine that being an indie digital operation in Chicago couldn’t have been easy.
