<p>Well, we have to say this is a little Friday boost as the one and only Snoop Dogg along with San Francisco shop Pereira &amp; O&#8217;Dell have collaborated on a project to commemorate his greatest moments&#8230;and of course, rolling papers are included. Here, the Doggfather offers an introduction to <em>Rolling Words</em>, which is essentially a smokable songbook as the parties are calling it and promotes the hip-hop vet&#8217;s smoking rolling papers. The book, which we&#8217;ve been told is in &#8220;elite distribution&#8221; at the moment, is all made from hemp-related materials. So, basically, all you damn need is a match.</p>
<p>Those who are lucky enough to attend the modern-day Woodstock that is Coachella can sample the wares, which seems appropriate enough considering Snoop&#8217;s headlining the final night on April 22. <title>In the UK, Google+ Lasts a Lifetime</title>

<p>While Americans have been bombarded with heavily sentimental Google+ TV ads that cause us to burst into tears and hug our pets during <em>Modern Family</em> commercial breaks, the UK has been living in deprivation. That is, until now.</p>
<p>For Google+&#8217;s first UK TV spot, creative shop Adam and Eve (not the porn company) is taking responsibility for melting the cold, British hearts of the assorted Emma Thompsons and Alan Rickmans across the pond. A dead ringer for the BBH Google work we&#8217;ve been seeing stateside (but with accents), &#8220;Tom+&#8221; follows the online life of one man, starting by watching him sort his wife into a &#8220;Love of My Life&#8221; Circle and ending with his older, gray-haired self sorting a baby into a Circle labeled &#8220;Grandchildren.&#8221; And, in case you didn&#8217;t recognize it right away, the narration over the spot is British actor <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Benedict-Cumberbatch-profile.html">Benedict Cumberbatch</a></strong> reading &#8220;The Seven Ages of Man,&#8221; from Shakespeare&#8217;s <em>As You Like It</em>.</p>
<p>Now, as tear-inducing as this spot is, it&#8217;s kind of silly to think that it hinges on the belief that Google+ will be successful enough to last an entire generation. Regardless, Adam &amp; Eve founding creative partner <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Ben-Priest-profile.html">Ben Priest</a></strong> <a href="http://www.brandrepublic.com/bulletin/digitalambulletin/article/1124921/google-launches-first-tv-ad/?DCMP=EMC-CONDigitalAM">told <em>Brand Republic</em></a>, &#8220;We wanted to bring warmth and humanity to this platform. To show people  how it allows you to share what&#8217;s important with those you love.&#8221; So, dear commenters, do you prefer your tea and crumpets with &#8220;Tom+&#8221; or a shot of &#8220;Dear Sophie?&#8221;</p>

CPC&#8217;s director of marketing <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Catherine-Steffan-profile.html">Catherine Steffan</a></strong> offers the most generic of statements regarding her company&#8217;s decision, saying, &#8220;We’re happy to announce that we’ll be working with Ammirati and looking forward to great things.&#8221;</p>

<title>Pizza-Craving Agency Sends Out RFP to Local Hollywood Haunts</title>

<p>This has all the makings of a Friday item. L.A.-based integrated agency Big Picture Group, which seems to have a focus on interactive and broadcast efforts for TV shows, decided to take their weekly Friday free staff lunch benefit one step forward. BPG staffers seem to have an appetite for pizza (like most of us do) and today starting at 12:30 PST, eight local pizzerias will be vying for guaranteed Friday business over the next 12 weeks. Lordy, believe it or not, the agency, which has selected staffers to play judge and jury, sent out an RFP and it reads as follows:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Once a week, we break for lunch to enjoy the best pizza in town. No  debate – the best. Does this get your competitive juices (and tomato  sauce) flowing? We hope so.</p>
<p>We’d like to invite you to respond to our “Request for Pizza.” Winner gets our business.</p>
<p>Design Requirements<br />
Pies can be round, square, thick or thin. You’re the artist. We’re just  the guys and gals with smiles on our faces. One large pie of your  choosing is all it takes to show your stuff.</p>
<p>Technical and Infrastructure Requirements<br />
No “virtual” pizzas accepted. No virtual ovens, virtual Parmesan  shakers, or virtual pizza cutters. All tasters will be real live, real  hungry people.</p>
<p>Assumptions and Agreements<br />
After a taste test showcasing local pizza shops, our employees will vote  on their favorite. We’ll let you know by the Monday following “Taste  Test Friday” if your pie took the prize.</p>
<p>Basis for Award of Contract<br />
Winner to be determined by:<br />
•       Yummm-factor<br />
•       Presentation, ingredients, authenticity<br />
•       Intangibles</p>
<p>Anticipated Selection Schedule<br />
“Taste Test Friday” will take place on March 30, 2012 at 12:30pm.  The  winning shop will be rewarded our business once a week for 3 months.</p>
<p>Delivery is to begin the following “Pizza Friday” with bpg guaranteeing  the purchase of 5 (or 6) large pies for 12 consecutive weeks.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Now, as New Yorkers, we know how people here can be pretty snobbish about our pizza and we don&#8217;t really see SoCal as a choice destination for the delicious dish (doesn&#8217;t everyone just hit up In-N-Out over there?). But perhaps, we&#8217;re missing something and now, we&#8217;ll know where to go on our next visit to the West Coast. Damn, is it lunchtime yet?</p>

<p>The XO Group&#8217;s brand-new space in lower Manhattan boasts a fashion runway, a bar with a kegerator, a giant projection screen for playing Xbox Kinect, and a staircase inspired by the ones found in Apple stores.  Oh, and it has really good feng shui.</p>

<title>The Truth is Out There&#8230;At Least When it Comes to the Slingbox</title>

<p>Calling, Mulder, Scully, Ripley or anyone who&#8217;s dealt with aliens as the extraterrestrial bunch are apparently behind the making of TV streaming media device Slingbox according to this ha-ha clip from San Francisco&#8217;s Hub Strategy. Well, the guy you see as noted is <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Blake-Krikorian-profile.html">Blake Krikorian</a></strong>, the inventor of the Slingbox, co-founder/CEO of Sling Media, a board member of partner Amazon and now, a thespian.</p>
<p>Here, Springer meets with his outerworld mates on what looks like a throwaway set piece from <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Ridley-Scott-profile.html">Ridley Scott</a></strong>&#8216;s 1979 classic <em>Alien</em>. As you&#8217;ll see, he prefers getting home TV through the interwebs on his computer or mobile phone over reversing global warming. Well, at least he suffers some seemingly painful consequences for his decision, but we appreciate his sacrifice.</p>

The agency for the digital age&#8217;s Timeline offers a nice glimpse at a company that started in computer-assisted filmmaking courtesy of Bob and Richard Greenberg and, of course, has now evolved into the global operation you know today. Since we&#8217;re partial to sci-fi/horror, we figured we&#8217;d show you another image that provides the background on the brothers Greenberg&#8217;s work on <em>Alien</em>. <title>BurnsGroup Picks Up Chapstick Biz</title>

<p>It looks like Pfizer&#8217;s Consumer Health division is continuing to dole out agency assignments as sources familiar with the matter confirm that after a review which lasted &#8220;a few months,&#8221; New York-based indie agency BurnsGroup has won out as AOR for the pharma giant&#8217;s Chapstick brand. We&#8217;ve been told by sources that it&#8217;s a full AOR status including digital/traditional and assignments for the lip balm line are already underway.</p>
<p>PCH&#8217;s latest assignment follows that of awarding the Emergen-C account to Grey (we hear that BurnsGroup also participated in this pitch). The Chapstick business, if you recall, was previously handled on the digital side by R/GA (yes, we all know <a href="http://www.stargroup1.com/blog/chapstick-another-example-brand-who-doesnt-get-social-media-no-butts-about-it" target="_blank">what happened last fall</a>) and the Martin Agency offline. Pfizer has yet to comment on the Chapstick account transition.</p>

<title>Definition 6 Cuts Some Staff</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-31163" title="definition-621" src="http://www.mediabistro.com/agencyspy/files/2012/03/definition-621.jpg" alt="" width="90" height="90" />We haven&#8217;t really kept up with goings on at New York/Atlanta-based Definition 6, save for a <a href="http://www.timelinemoviemaker.com/" target="_blank">new Facebook project</a> here and there, but we&#8217;ve now received confirmation that the agency has had to cut some staff. While tipsters are telling us that the number ranges somewhere from 10-15 in NY and the ATL, like always, the agency downplays the figures, as Def6 tells us it&#8217;s more like six. Here&#8217;s a statement from an agency spokesperson below:</p>
<p>&#8220;Definition 6 has experienced rapid growth over the past 3 years and continues to do ground breaking work for our clients and partners. In the normal pattern of agency life, we experience changes in our staff levels in all offices and all departments and all functions. So, yes we have had some recent departures, but we have also had some recent hires and we continue to add more resources to growing departments as needed in areas like social, mobile, video and post production.&#8221;</p>
