‘Eastbound’ Co-Creator Jody Hill’s Latest Project: Hooters

When he’s not attaching his name to film projects or conspiring on the fourth season of Eastbound & Down with partner-in-crime Danny McBride, Jody Hill is turning his attention to advertising. The Observe and Report director recently shot six spots in all for Hooters, which is undergoing a “brand refresh” that comes courtesy of its newly named AOR, Atlanta-based Fitzgerald+CO.

The agency (which you may recall recently decided to hawk a Mini after losing the pitch) came up with the tagline “Feed the Dream” for Hooters, though as you’ll see in the “Lifeguard” spot above,¬† the theme is not as melodramatic as it seems. Guess we’ll just have to deal with angel and devil owl puppets along with the Hooters girls. Expect future Hill-directed ads to feature NFL Monday Night Football talker/former coach Jon Gruden. Oh yeah, as for the status of the Mini that Fitzergald+CO were selling off? We’ve been told that it’s been bought by the husband of one of the agency’s clients. They now just have to bring it down 11 floors.
