For the Last Time (Maybe), Tag Heuer and Tiger Are Simpatico

Tag Heuer seems to be suffering from the misinformation plague as the Swiss watchmaker today is refuting various reports from last Friday claiming that Tiger Woods was dropped at least in the U.S. by the brand.

Today, TH says that Woods is still a brand ambassador but the company will respect his desire of privacy by modifying his role in the coming months’ marketing programs. In a statement, Tag Heuer president/CEO Jean-Christophe Babin says, “The partnership with Tiger Woods will continue, but we will downscale the use of his image in certain markets for a period of time, depending on his decision about returning to professional golf. We will continue to actively support the Tiger Woods Foundation.” Any bets on a flip-flop in the coming days?
